We then had lunch at Drushliavitsa restaurant, which was quite close to the monastery. After that, we headed south to Melnik where we did some city tour. Day 3 started out with a morning drive to the heritage village of Kovachevitsa. We stopped by at Leshten for lunch before continuing our journey.

When we arrived at the village, we were amazed by the architectural style of the buildings which remained till this day. As the area was surrounded by canyons, crystal clear rivers and thick forests, we were treated to one of the best scenic views in Bulgaria. We spent our 4th day heading back to Sofia where we did some last minute souvenir shopping and sightseeing. We retired to bed early as we had an early flight the next morning. At the end of our trip, we only had this to say about Bulgaria – truly mesmerizing. And if given the chance, we would definitely visit this wonderful country again in the future.
